Micah Green Qualifies Number One
Micha Green
San Dimas, Ca USA - Micah Green took a stunning and somewhat surprising number one qualifying position for tomorrow's IGSA U.S. Nationals Final Elimination Rounds.  The skater from Salt Lake City earned the number one spot in dominant fashion by set fast time in both qualifying runs.  Joshua Torres from Petaluma, CA was only 3/100ths of a second behind Green and will start from the number two spot.  Andrew Haiby from San Diego was third about one second back.

2009 Bonelli Champion Zak Maytum from Colorado was sitting in second place after the first run.  He went for broke on his second run and ended up making heavy contact with the straw bales at the exit of Nersh Corner.  Maytum suffered a laceration to his nose along with bumps and bruises but was otherwise unhurt.

Fellow Coloradian Kyle Wester rounded out the top five.  Notably absent from to top five was Mischo Erban.  Last years winner was unable to find the speed and currently sits in eighth place two full seconds behind Green.  It will be interesting to see if the 2009 World Cup Series Champion can find a faster pace in the race.  A total of 62 riders made qualifying attempts in Downhill Skateboarding.

Conaway Paces the Street Luge Field
Christian Conaway

Christian Conaway recently began his university studies at BYU in Salt Lake City but the racer from Sylmar, California wouldn't let that keep him away from the U.S. Nationals.  Conaway flew in for the weekend and sailed to the number one qualifying position in his first run.  He set a time of 1:05.271 that was nearly two full seconds faster than second place qualifier Mike McIntyre.  William Condon was third with a 1:07.609.

William Condon and Kolby Parks who both hail from Ontario, Canada are locked in a tight battle to win the 2011 NorAm Series Championship.  Coming into the final round at Bonelli, Condon holds a slim 3.33 point advantage over Parks.  If either Condon or Parks wins the race, they will automatically be Champion.  If Condon finishes ahead of Parks in any position Condon would be the Champion.  If Parks finishes second and Condon were fifth or worse, Parks will be Champion.  If Parks finishes third and Condon were to finish 6th of worse, Parks will be Champion.  It will definitely be exciting to watch the drama unfold.
